Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Staff/Senior with 1-4 years of public accounting experience to join their tax team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys working directly with clients, and working on/managing multiple engagements while delivering high-quality tax services.
The Tax Staff/Senior will prepare and review tax returns, assist with tax planning, research complex tax issues, and serve as a key point of contact for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for:
    • Individuals (Form 1040)
    • Partnerships (Form 1065)
    • S Corporations (Form 1120-S)
    • C Corporations (Form 1120)
    • Trusts and Estates (Form 1041)
  • Prepare tax projections and planning strategies for business and individual clients.
  • Research federal and state tax issues and communicate findings to managers and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through timely and professional communication.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple engagements to meet deadlines.
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of staff accountants.
  • Assist with responding to IRS and state tax notices.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and process improvements for clients.
  • Participate in firm initiatives, training, and business development activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 1-4 years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation.
  • Experience preparing business and individual tax returns.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy season.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.

Preferred

  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification.
  • Experience with CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax CS, GoSystem, or similar tax software.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
  • Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting a plus.

Salary range $75-110K + Bonus
