Systems Engineer – Financial Services – NYC
Daley And Associates is currently conducting a search for a financial services client. This candidate has an opportunity to join a growing team as our client expands, bringing aboard an experienced Systems Engineer. In this role, you’ll handle the nitty-gritty of installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining both on-premises and cloud-based technologies.
This role is a hybrid role, being onsite only once per week (subject to change).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to design and sustain critical IT systems.
- Assess existing workloads to optimize their placement—whether on-premises, SaaS, or IaaS.
- Swiftly troubleshoot incidents and work to prevent future issues.
- Implement automation for efficiency gains and drive continuous service improvement.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address infrastructure issues, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent experience in Data Center, Trading, Computer, or Network Operations.
- Possess over five (5) years of experience in designing, executing, and supporting complex IT environments, including deployments in AWS and/or Azure.
- Preference for experience in the financial services industry, with a solid grasp of financial markets and trading.
- Proficiency in cloud operations, security, networking architectures, orchestration, containerization (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and automation/scripting (Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.).
- Hands-on experience migrating workloads to AWS or Azure.
- Previous involvement in configuring and supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Intune advanced security features.
- Familiarity with Windows domains, Active Directory, and Group Policy setup and configuration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize and fulfill tasks within designated timelines, both autonomously and collaboratively.
Salary Range:
This role will be a base salary from $130,000 to $155,000, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based on individual skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
