System Engineer
Our client an industry leading alternative investment manager is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join their growing team. Among other responsibilities, Systems Engineers are responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of on-premises and cloud-based technologies.
What you will do:
- Work with a team of engineers to design and maintain mission-critical IT systems
- Examine existing workloads to select the most advantageous locations for each (on-premises, SaaS, IaaS, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and work proactively on incidents in a timely manner
- Automate tasks and perform continuous service improvement
- Participate in on-call rotations for both on-premises and cloud infrastructure issues
You should have:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience in Data Center, Trading, Computer, or Network Operations
- 5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting complex IT environments, including AWS and/or Azure deployments
- Financial services industry experience preferred, with an understanding of financial markets and trading
- Proficiency in cloud operations, security, networking architectures, orchestration, containerization (ECS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and automation/scripting (Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.)
- Experience in migrating workloads to either AWS or Azure
- Experience in the implementation and support of Microsoft 365 environments
- Experience configuring and implementing Intune advanced security features
- Experience with Windows domains, Active Directory, and Group Policy, and their setup and configuration
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and fulfill tasks within given timelines and work well both autonomously and within a team
