Staff Accountant (Hybrid, 3-4 days in office, North Carolina)
A leading residential real estate developer, located south of Greensboro, NC, is actively seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate has 2-3+ years of accounting experience within the construction, real estate or homebuilding space. Responsibilities:
- Review KPI’s and financial reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Assist in month end close processes
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure that appropriate controls and compliance processes are in place and being followed
- Make recommendations for process improvements and automation opportunities
- Prepare journal entries including “HUD” entries for all types of real estate transactions
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in accounting (experience can substitute a four-year degree)
- 2-3 years accounting experience (within homebuilding, construction, or manufacturing industries a plus)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in recording accounting entries (accruals, prepaids) and creating journal entries
