Data Engineer – Data Governance-Boston/Hybrid

Seeking a skilled Data Engineer for an asset management client in Boston, MA hybrid 2 days from home and 3 days in the office. This role is specializing in data governance and quality. Collaborate with Data Management to enhance data reliability, efficiency, and quality organization-wide. Utilize latest cloud technologies and frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance technologies to enhance data quality, lineage, and discoverability.
- Enforce data-related standards, policies, and architectures aligned with strategic objectives.
- Design and implement data quality rules and source system checks.
- Ensure clean data flow through source systems and data pipelines.
- Implement solutions for tracking key performance indicators and automate reporting.
- Provide technical support to data team for governance activities.
- Collaborate with data and application teams to redesign and optimize processes.
Qualifications: Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3-5 years of data engineering experience (SQL, Python, etc.).
- Cloud environment experience (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data governance principles.
- Familiarity with Data Catalog, Lineage, and Quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of data governance tools like Atlan, Collibra, Alation, etc.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Deadline-driven with ownership mentality.
Nice-to-Have:
- Finance or Asset Management domain experience.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and DBT.
- Hands-on experience with big data pipelines and AWS services.
