Sr. Cobol Developer – Orange County, CA
Daley And Associates is currently seeking a Sr. Cobol Developer to join a client who is prominent within the Capital Markets industry. As a Sr. Cobol Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining Cobol applications that support mission-critical systems. This role is paying an 80/hr. This is a 12 month contract position onsite four days a week in our clients Greater LA office.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-quality Cobol applications according to client requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze user needs and software requirements
- Perform code reviews, debug, and troubleshoot Cobol programs to ensure smooth and efficient execution
- Participate in system integration testing and support deployment activities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Cobol development
- Identify and propose process improvements to enhance development efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5-10+ years’ experience in Cobol development, financial services industry preferable
- Strong knowledge of Cobol programming language and its associated tools
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Proficient in debugging and troubleshooting Cobol applications
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
