Compensation: $150,000–$165,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to join its Technical Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with strong technical accounting and SEC reporting experience to take on a highly visible role providing accounting guidance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical accounting guidance, including research and interpretation of accounting standards, preparation of accounting memos, and analysis of complex accounting transactions
  • Review and assist with the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and other required filings
  • Ensure compliance with new accounting standards, including ASC 606 and ASC 842, and provide guidance on implementation
  • Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage teams and project engagements, including overseeing the work of staff and senior accountants
  • Assist with due diligence related to potential acquisitions and other special projects
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members on technical accounting matters
  • Communicate with external auditors and other stakeholders regarding technical accounting matters
  • Stay current on changes to accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA certification required
  • 5+ years of technical accounting experience, preferably within a public company environment
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 842, Pre-IPO accounting, and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience with financial reporting software and systems such as Workiva or SEC EDGAR
  • Previous experience managing teams and project engagements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
