Senior Investment Risk Manager – Fixed Income | NYC | Hybrid
A leading global investment firm is looking to add a Senior Investment Risk Manager to its Fixed Income Risk team. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced investment risk professional who can serve as a strategic risk partner to Portfolio Managers and eventually take ownership of a dedicated fixed-income coverage area.
Compensation: $185,000-195,000
Schedule: Hybrid, onsite 3 days/week
The Role
- Partner directly with Fixed Income Portfolio Managers to assess portfolio risk and exposures
- Analyze portfolio construction, risk drivers, scenarios, and investment guidelines
- Use quantitative analysis to identify potential risks and influence investment decisions
- Interpret outputs from risk platforms such as Barra and BlackRock Aladdin
- Develop and enhance risk analysis and processes across the broader investment platform
- Serve as the go-to risk partner for assigned fixed-income strategies, with significant autonomy and ownership
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years of experience in investment risk, fixed income risk, market risk, quantitative analysis, or a related field
- Strong fixed income experience; municipal bonds are highly desirable but not required
- Open to candidates from asset managers or investment banks, particularly those in market risk, fixed income risk, quantitative risk, or investment risk
- Experience across municipal bonds, IG credit, high yield, loans, securitized/structured products, or multisector fixed income
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk models and apply findings to portfolios
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with senior investment professionals
- Quantitative academic background in finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related field preferred
