Senior Data Engineer – Enterprise Data Platform (Microsoft Fabric)
Daley and Associates is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for an investment management client to help architect and scale its enterprise data platform built on Microsoft Fabric. This individual contributor will design foundational data architecture, establish governance standards, and ensure a scalable, secure ecosystem supporting analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
This role has a base salary range of $135,000.00 to $175,000.00.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and enhance a Fabric-based platform using OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, and Spark.
- Define architectural standards, governance frameworks (data quality, lineage, metadata, access), and best practices.
- Translate business needs into scalable Fabric-native solutions.
- Oversee external engineering partners through design reviews and quality assurance.
- Drive adoption of modern Fabric capabilities and reduce legacy Azure patterns.
- Partner with business teams to deliver high-impact data products.
- Guide enterprise Power BI practices, including semantic modeling, Direct Lake strategy, performance, and governance.
- Contribute hands-on to prototypes, frameworks, and critical components.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with cloud/security teams on platform resilience and compliance.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering.
- Experience building enterprise-scale data platforms and guiding distributed engineering teams.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Spark, SQL, Python, and Power BI semantic modeling.
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling and modern analytics data design.
- Experience modernizing Azure-based data environments into Fabric-first architectures.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Azure services (Synapse, ADF, ADLS), SaaS/API integrations, data governance frameworks, and Agile delivery models.
