Senior Accountant
A growing start-up company located in Worcester MA is looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to their team. As the Senior Accountant, you will support the Controller and Chief Financial Officer on all financial requirements, including financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, and overall general accounting for the firm. We are seeking a self-starter, someone who wants growth, and has an aptitude to learn. This position requires an onsite (5 days/week) work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Process vendor payments
- Input invoices into QuickBooks
- Process W-9 requests from vendors
- Process CashPro ACH/Wire payments, mail checks to vendors
- Month End Close:
- Prepare/review journal entries
- Review and reconcile cash, prepaid accounts, accounts payable, intercompany payments, and other balance sheet accounts
- Prepare month-end financial reports
- Assist Controller/CFO with ad-hoc requests/projects
- Assist with sales tax filings and preparations
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
- 2+ Years of public accounting experience
- Retail experience preferred
- Must be willing to be onsite 5 days/week
- Aptitude to learn
