Payroll Associate – Boston – Hybrid
Our client is seeking a Payroll Associate to support end-to-end payroll operations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while serving as a trusted resource for employees.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll cycles
- Review and validate timekeeping data, including overtime, PTO, and holiday pay
- Ensure proper calculation of wages, taxes, deductions, and garnishments
- Manage off-cycle payments, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
- Audit and maintain timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies
- Partner with managers and employees to address time-related issues
- Support maintenance of pay rules, accruals, and schedules
- Provide guidance on timekeeping processes and best practices
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Assist with year-end processes, including tax forms and audits
- Prepare payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries
- Educate employees on pay, tax withholdings, and self-service tools
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
- Maintain accurate payroll records within HRIS systems
- Assist with system updates, testing, and process improvements
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (UKG strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of payroll laws and multi-state payroll practices
- Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
