Manager, Technical Accounting & Transactions
North of Boston, MA (Hybrid)
A leading publicly traded global investment management firm is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting & Transactions to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this is a high-visibility role within a collaborative, partnership-driven organization.
This firm partners with independent investment managers globally and operates with a lean, entrepreneurial culture where team members have meaningful impact and cross-functional exposure.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate accounting implications of transactions with existing and prospective partner firms

Advise senior leadership on technical accounting matters and emerging regulatory developments

Interpret and implement new accounting guidance (FASB, SEC, IASB, PCAOB)

Determine accounting treatment for complex areas including:

Business combinations
-
Non-controlling interests and equity incentives

Equity method investments
-
Partnership and LLC economic sharing arrangements
-
Capital planning transactions, including derivatives

Partner with external auditors to support efficient audit processes
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
-
CPA strongly preferred
-
5+ years of progressive experience with significant technical accounting exposure

Public accounting experience strongly preferred
