Junior Staff Accountant
We are currently seeking candidates for a Junior Staff Accountant role with a highly respected financial services organization located in Boston, MA. The Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with financial reporting activities, and supporting billing and invoice-related processes within a fast-paced corporate environment. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
This is a 6-month contract position paying between $24-$25/hour (depending on experience).
This role supports a hybrid work model in Boston, Massachusetts, consisting of 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home/week.
Responsibilities:
• Support daily accounting operations, including financial record maintenance and reconciliations.
• Assist with general ledger activities, account analysis, and supporting documentation preparation.
• Participate in month-end closing activities and financial reporting processes.
• Review invoices, billing documentation, and accrual-related data for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with financial operations projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operations teams to support business initiatives.
• Support audit preparation and additional ad hoc accounting projects as needed.
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure accuracy across accounting activities.
• Provide additional support as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting, finance, billing, or related professional experience.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and overall Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Prior experience within financial services or corporate environments preferred.
