Position: Interim Director of Technical Accounting

We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Director of Technical Accounting position located in San Francisco, CA 94080. The Director of Technical Accounting will focus on assisting with audit readiness and complex accounting matters related to year-end audit.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical accounting and financial reporting support during year-end and audit fieldwork
- Assist with financial statement and footnote preparation, including building disclosures where needed
- Support accounting analysis related to complex transactions and new disclosures, including leases (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), and purchased intellectual property
- Partner with internal finance leadership and support audit firm fieldwork through timely documentation and responses
- Help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and evolving reporting standards under tight deadlines
Qualifications
- BS in Accounting (required)
- CPA (required)
- 10+ years of relevant technical accounting experience
- Well versed in ASC 842 and ASC 805
- Relevant experience supporting public company audits and IPO readiness
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and confidential setting
