HRIS Analyst – Banking – Hartford, CT
We are currently seeking a detail oriented and proactive HRIS Analyst to support one of Connecticut’s top-tier banks. In this role, you will manage core HR processes, maintain data integrity across systems, and develop reporting that enables smart business decisions. You will partner closely with HR, Talent, and business leaders to drive operational excellence and enhance the employee experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to improve systems and processes.
This is a 6+ month contract opportunity that will pay $45-$55/hour depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee data across HR systems; support data entry, audits, and troubleshooting.
- Build, update, and analyze HR reports and dashboards (e.g., headcount, turnover, DEI).
- Provide operational support for HR functions such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes.
- Serve as a point of contact for HRIS questions, user support, and process enhancements.
- Support implementation of new HR tools, features, and workflows; partner with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements; support audit activities.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to streamline processes and improve data quality.
- Support change management initiatives related to systems or policy updates.
- Maintain documentation of processes, procedures, and reporting standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, People Analytics, or related HR administrative/analytical roles.
- Strong technical skills with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data validation).
- Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday highly preferred).
- Experience developing and maintaining HR reports; familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and confidentiality practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable working cross-functionally.
- Process-minded with a continuous improvement mindset; able to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Customer-service orientation with a commitment to supporting and enabling stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HR systems implementation or optimization.
- Exposure to People analytics or dashboard automation.
- Experience in fast-growth or dynamic environments.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
