Hedge Fund Administrator – Investment Management – Boston, MA

We are seeking candidates for a Hedge Fund Administrator position with a highly successful investment management firm located in Boston, MA. This role will support Finance, Accounting, and Operations activities across the firm’s hedge fund portfolio. Reporting to the managers within the Audit & Financial Reporting team, the Hedge Fund Administrator will collaborate with internal analysts, managers, fund administrators, and external auditors to ensure audits are completed within 90 days and that all financial reporting requirements are accurately met.

This is a 3-month contract position that will pay $65-75/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek. This position is REQUIRED to be onsite 4 days/week in their Boston office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and/or perform annual audit and financial reporting activities for a book of hedge funds, including detail review of balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes, consolidated SOI, financial highlights, and review of footnotes (including disclosure of ASC 820, ASC 815, ASU 2011-4, and other required disclosures)

  • Possible support for audit-related projects

  • Provide feedback for process improvement efforts identified in completing assignment

  • Provide feedback on technical subject matters from past work experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or business

  • 5+ years of audit and/or financial reporting experience, preferably for hedge funds, is required.

  • Must have experience with:

  • Financial Reporting, Financial Statement Preparation, and/or Auditing

  • Complex Funds (Hedge Funds, difficult mutual funds, master feeders, side pockets, etc.)

  • Proficient in Microsoft core programs (Very strong Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work both independently and with the team, a client service mindset, and solve problems.

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently and meeting deadlines is crucial.
