Fund Administrator- Investment Management- New York, NY
We are seeking candidates for a Fund Administrator position with a highly successful Investment Management firm located in New York, NY 10001. This position will report to the Director of Fund Administration. This ideal candidate will have 5+ years of fund administration experience (public and/or private) with a strong background in 1940 Act Funds.
This is a 6-12+ month contract that will pay $45-60/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour work week. This position is required to be onsite 3 days/week in the New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on automation and daily tasks for both private and registered funds
- Validate the daily and monthly valuation of investment portfolios
- Manage the funds’ administrator to ensure prompt payment of invoices
- Monitor subscriptions and redemptions and all cash or asset movements in or out of the fund
- Review complex corporate actions for proper tax and accounting recordkeeping
- Assist in the preparation and collection of audit and tax materials for year-end audit
- Liaise with the auditors and tax preparers
- Review financial statements in GAAP and IFRS and assist with the preparation of various regulatory filings
- Interface with other internal departments (ie., Legal and Compliance, Investment Management,
- Sales and Marketing) to resolve technical or business issues related to accounting
- Monitor asset transfers between multiple prime broker accounts and counterparties
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required
- 5+ years of fund administration (public and/or private) with a strong background in 1940 Act Funds
- Strong technical skills (Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), Alteryx)
- Strong background working with 1940 Act Funds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
