Fund Accountant – Credit | Boston, MA

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to join a fast-growing opportunistic credit firm focused on U.S. middle-market investments. This is a high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of fund accounting, investor reporting, and portfolio performance, with direct exposure to how deal activity flows through fund-level results.

Compensation: $85,000-105,000 + bonus

What you’ll do

  • Own key parts of the quarterly close and investor reporting cycle
  • Prepare capital calls, distributions, and investor notices
  • Review management fees, capital accounts, and fund financials prepared by administrators
  • Support expense allocations and fund-level reconciliations
  • Coordinate with administrators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to resolve reporting items
  • Maintain investor records and support investor portal reporting
  • Manage audit support and LP confirmations
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from investors and internal teams
  • Help improve reporting workflows using AI and automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude)

What we’re looking for

  • 2–4 years of experience from Big 4/public accounting
  • Strong preference for exposure to private credit, private equity, or closed-end funds
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA (or CPA track) required
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Interest in using technology/AI to improve financial processes

This is a great next step for a public accounting professional (PE or credit fund clients) looking to move into a lean team with direct exposure to fund leadership and decision-making. For immediate consideration, reach out to Kelly Lucey at [email protected]
