Associate, Fund Accounting
A leading private equity investment firm, headquartered south of Boston, with a strong track record of investing in growth-oriented companies across technology, media, communications, and education is seeking to hire a Fund Accountant. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a collaborative fund accounting team and gain exposure to all aspects of private equity fund operations in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bank reconciliations and journal entries with supporting documentation
- Assist with weekly cash activity reporting
- Prepare and track fund capital calls and investor distributions
- Support the preparation of quarterly financial statements
- Coordinate with external auditors during audit engagements
- Respond to limited partner (LP) inquiries and reporting requests
- Prepare wire transfers and monitor cash movements
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects
- Support the finance team with additional accounting and operational initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in Big 4 public accounting or financial services
- CPA or active pursuit of CPA designation strongly preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Workday and/or Investran is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Compensation:
Base Salary: $85-95K, plus bonus and full coverage of health benefits.
