Title: Litigation Paralegal Family Law 
Location: Needham 128 (onsite) 
Type: Permanent 
Compensation: $105 K base salary (based on experience)

Outstanding boutique law firm specializing in family law, seeking a Litigation Paralegal with prior family law paralegal experience. We are looking for a professional with 5 plus years of experience as a family law litigation paralegal.  Job requirements include strong writing and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to carry out multiple tasks at once and meet and exceed deadlines.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of family law litigation, including divorce, child custody, property settlements and marital agreements
  • Strong experience with rules 401 and 410 is a must 
  • Communicate with the Court, with Opposing Counsel, with Clients, and with Experts on behalf of attorneys
  • Organize and maintain clients’ electronic files
  • Conduct legal research, maintain attorney calendars, and stay on top of court deadlines, serve as a liaison between the client and the attorneys
  • Draft legal forms and pleadings
  • Arrange court filings and process serves
  • Assist with discovery, including document collections, document reviews, and document productions
  • Help the attorney prepare for trials, depositions, MSCs, and hearings by creating the necessary pleadings, trial notes, and exhibit binders
  • Prepare and revise pleadings and other documents filed with the court. Understands and follows through with the filing process, including manual filings and any e-filing process the court may require.
  • Need Financial Statement experience and Child Support guideline experience. 
  • Support multiple attorneys in a family law practice. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, as well as a paralegal certificate, preferred
  • Experience with high-asset cases and familiarity with the local rules and courts in Massachusetts
  • 4+ years of family law or litigation experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with little direction 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested
  • Must display professionalism, quality service, and a “can-do” attitude to internal members of the firm as well as external clients over the telephone and in person.
