Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician
We are currently seeking candidates for a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician role with a well-established diagnostic radiology practice located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technician will be responsible for independently operating ultrasound equipment, performing diagnostic examinations, and communicating results to physicians. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of diagnostic ultrasound experience and strong clinical judgement in a fast-paced outpatient setting. ARDMS registration preferred.
This is a full-time, permanent position paying between $45–$55/hour (depending on experience). This role supports an on-site work model, Monday–Friday (day shift).
Responsibilities:
• Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic ultrasound examinations as ordered by the attending physician.
• Independently operate ultrasound equipment while applying sound clinical judgement throughout examinations.
• Utilize cognitive sonography skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological findings.
• Accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings during examinations.
• Review ultrasound images, synthesize imaging results with patient history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during all procedures.
• Assist with daily operations of the Ultrasound Department, including quality assurance and reporting equipment issues.
• Establish and maintain professional, ethical working relationships with physicians, staff, hospitals, and referral partners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• ARDMS registration preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist.
• Strong understanding of ultrasound procedures, protocols, and patient care standards.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinical staff.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
