Chief Technology Officer
The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for the organization’s technology future. The CTO will lead the IT department to achieve the company’s vision through realistic and measurable activities. The CTO will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with management and stakeholders across the organization to develop short and long-term business strategies and articulate the necessary IT support to execute the strategy. This includes collaborating with business leaders to manage the distribution and deployment of technology across the organization, managing a team capable of taking on new challenges, and understanding the impact on growth and profitability.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a high EQ and will be able to lead the deployment of creative, robust, scalable, and effective technology services and solutions. Strong technical and operational knowledge of O365, networking, security camera systems and experience in hybrid and cloud environments are critical qualifications.
The CTO must also ensure alignment with relative cybersecurity best practices and strong compliance with applicable federal, state, and international data privacy regulations. In addition to performing the key responsibilities of this position, the Chief Technology Officer must exemplify our values and guiding principles to ultimately ensure the fulfillment of our purpose.
In this role the Chief Technology Officer will:
- Set objectives and strategies for the IT department.
- Provide top-level management for all IT employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Define organizational goals and align departments effectively.
- Align capabilities with strategic priorities and business goals.
- Present and communicate technology strategy to leadership, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Work with leadership and staff to provide oversight for all technology activities, including reviewing and approving all policies, controls, and standards.
- Advises senior leadership on status and risks, leveraging cybersecurity and IT experience.
- Ensure that deployment, change control, and issue management processes are defined, communicated, executed, and revised.
- Ensure a complete security plan is in place that protects the availability, integrity, and privacy of the IT infrastructure and data stored and communicated.
- Provide technical and strategic leadership to support the various security technologies and solutions. (Firewalls, network architecture, DLP, EDR, etc.).
- Ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and tested regularly.
- Oversee identity and access management policies and review, revise, and update the policies as necessary.
- Review investigations after security breaches or incidents, including impact analysis and recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities.
- Translate incident investigations to the identification of risks and actionable plans to protect the business.
- Ensure the security cameras are optimized and functioning throughout the real estate campus.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Qualifications):
- 10 or more years of experience or demonstrable experience leading technology in support of private equity, venture capital, commercial real estate, or similar background
- Strong technical and leadership experience in IT Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, Security Systems, and Cybersecurity
- Background in planning, designing, developing, and managing IT/Cloud systems
- Prior experience in optimizing infrastructure and processes
- Confidence in enabling business solutions while maintaining appropriate scrutiny and risk management rigor
- Analytical and data-driven problem solving
- Ability to manage robust and positive discussions with the CEO, peer leadership, and the organization
- Strong strategic and business mindset
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communications
- Post-graduate degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D.) highly preferred
