Cost/Senior Cost Accountant
A leading global industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking an experienced Cost/Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. This position reports directly into the Business Unit Controller and the team is seeking an individual who is experienced with maintaining a high level of analytical insight into manufacturing, and is able to process company operational expenses, product pricing, and business unit profitability. This is an in-person position located in Peabody, MA. The salary range for the position is $70k-$100k.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and implement cost standards for materials, labor and manufacturing overhead and keep updated in the ERP system.

Develop and analyze standard cost report suite to include material usage and manufacturing variances and enable root cause analysis.

Monitor and report on inventory levels, production costs, and returns.

Conduct regular physical inventory cycle counts and reconciliations.

Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Prepare, review and analyze monthly and annual financial statements in an accurate and timely manner and in line with US GAAP.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

A minimum of 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing and equipment/engineering environment

Strong knowledge of inventory cycle counts and cost accounting

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to create and analyze financial reports and forecasts

The ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
