Corporate Paralegal- Law Firm- New York, NY
We are seeking candidates for a Corporate Paralegal to join a highly successful law firm located in New York City, NY. This position will support a large team of attorneys and other support staff in all aspects of corporate transactions (including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing and fund formation). The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of corporate paralegal experience.
This is a contract to hire position that will pay $35-45/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek. This position is required to be onsite 5 days/week during the training period and switch to hybrid onsite 3 days/week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide research and administrative support to Board and Management Committees and supporting other corporate governance activities across the US
- Responsible for providing consistent quality customer service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds the organization’s standards
- Support the Executive Director and Deputy/Associate General Counsels in providing oversight and guidance to the company’s and its various entities’ management and boards of directors on corporate governance matters
- Conduct governance research and manage projects to respond to audit and other stakeholder requests as requested
- Support Executive committee meetings, including preparing meeting agendas and consent agendas/resolutions
- Provide administrative support as requested for scheduling meetings, follow-up on information requests, and managing meeting logistics, as requested
- Ensure appropriate recordkeeping for Board and Committee matters
- Perform regulatory and compliance research and analysis
- Assist in the preparation of governance documents to support attorneys
- Maintains and organizes files and databases appropriate to the functional area
- Conduct research and gather information
- Support management by responding to routine matters and questions
- Monitor industry developments pertaining to functional area
- Complete other related duties as directed by the Supervisor as it relates relevant to the position
- Work with a large team of attorneys and support staff driving client excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Political Science or equivalent work experience is required
- Paralegal Certificate is a plus
- 3-7 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Admin
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Knowledge of basic corporate business structure and principle
- Ability to define problems, collect relevant information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
