Controller | New York, NY | Hybrid (3 Days In Office)
A leading investment organization managing a multi-billion-dollar endowment is seeking a Controller to join its New York City team. This role offers broad exposure across accounting, financial reporting, audit, tax, and investment operations within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Compensation: $135,000-155,000 + bonus
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Prepare financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and expense reporting
- Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external firms
- Review third-party fund accounting and financial reporting
- Support governance activities, including committee materials and meeting coordination
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identify process improvements and support special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills with excellent analytical and communication abilities
- Investment management, endowment, family office, or alternative investment experience is a plus
