Construction Estimator – West Palm Beach – Base Salary up to $140K
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join their Preconstruction team. You will support multiple projects across a variety of market sectors and delivery methods. You will also play a critical part in developing accurate, comprehensive cost estimates from early conceptual phases through final construction documents.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction costs across all building systems, can manage multiple trades and estimates simultaneously, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Preconstruction & Estimating

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs

Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and final construction document estimates

Compile complete estimates that account for all construction scopes, risks, and project requirements

Prepare estimating variance reports and tracking documentation
Bid & Subcontractor Coordination

Review drawings, specifications, and proposal requirements

Level subcontractor bids using standardized scope sheets

Incorporate historical cost data, productivity analysis, subcontract values, and purchase orders into unit pricing

Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and material suppliers
Data Management & Market Analysis

Maintain organized electronic project files

Enter project metrics and financial data into historical cost databases

Track and analyze current market conditions and pricing trends
Project Team Support

Assist project teams with subcontract purchasing, bid leveling, and award recommendations

Support the preparation and execution of subcontracts and purchase orders

Help develop purchasing schedules to ensure timely and accurate contract execution
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, or related

5+ years of experience in construction estimating or cost control
-
Strong knowledge of industry estimating practices, construction means and methods, and safety standards

Experience estimating a variety of project types and contract structures
