Position: Assistant Controller

We are currently seeking candidates for an Assistant Controller position located in Scarsdale, NY 10583. The role is with a leading manufacturer and distributor is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join its growing finance team. The position offers broad responsibility across the close process, financial reporting, and internal controls in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is on-site 5 days per week.
This is a full-time permanent position that will pay $160K base salary plus bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
- Oversee general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and inventory accounting
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and financial regulations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- Relevant experience with inventory accounting/audit
- Strong understanding of GAAP and audit procedures
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
- Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
