Accounts Payable Manager – Real Estate (Boston)
A family owned real estate firm located in Boston is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role responsible for managing high-volume invoice processing, vendor relationships, internal controls, and payment operations.
Compensation: $75,000-100,000 + bonus
Accounts Payable Operations
- Manage end-to-end AP processing within MRI (invoices, payments, vendor setup, and records)
- Process ~800–1,000 checks monthly, including coding, approvals, and distribution
- Record daily cash activity and monitor bank balances
- Maintain AP calendar and ensure timely payments
- Perform month-end AP close and reconciliation to the GL
Vendor & Compliance Management
- Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and Certificates of Insurance
- Manage vendor onboarding and maintenance
- Prepare and process annual 1099 reporting
- Support vendor relationships and payment inquiries
Loan & Tax Payments
- Track and process loan payments (principal, interest, escrow)
- Process real estate tax payments and maintain tracking logs
- Review tax invoices for accuracy and ownership change
Documentation & Reporting
- Oversee document management and AP scanning systems
- Maintain organized electronic and physical records
- Support audits, accrual tracking, and year-end reporting
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Accounts Payable experience (real estate preferred)
- Experience managing high-volume AP environments
- Strong understanding of property taxes, loan payments, and 1099 reporting
- Experience with MRI or similar real estate accounting systems preferred
- Stable work history with a long-term mindset
