Accounting Manager – Legal Services- Arlington, VA
We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager opportunity with a highly successful law firm located in Arlington, Virginia. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing monthly billing for 40+ attorneys, conducting bank reconciliations, managing general ledger, performing reporting, and participating in shareholder meetings. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of relevant accounting experience, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This is a permanent opportunity that will pay a base salary between $120,000-$140,000 (depending on experience). This role is REQUIRED to be on-site 5 days/week.
Responsibilities:
- Spearheads general accounting processes and procedures
- Conduct billing for 40+ attorneys
- Perform bank reconciliations and oversees banking activities
- Maintain oversight of trust and escrow accounts
- Manage 1099 reporting and unclaimed property reporting
- Calculates, reports, and managers commissions for firm employees
- Develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Participate in monthly shareholder meetings
- Support special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting REQUIRED
- 7-10+ years of accounting experience in corporate professional services (experience working in a law firm a plus)
- Active CPA License (preferred but not required)
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot-Tables)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and self-motivated
- Great organization, time management, and prioritization skills
