Accounting Manager
A highly successful Digital Media Advertising/News Paper company located in Boston is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their growing team! As the Accounting Manager, you will manage a team of 3 and be responsible for overseeing the GL function, journal entries, reconciliations, and quarter/year end. We are seeking candidates with strong GL experience, as well as prior experience managing a team, and a desire to work in the Advertising industry!
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting including, analysis, reconciliation, journal entries, and month end close
- Mentor and support the growth of team members
- Account reconciliation review and analysis to ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies/procedures to ensure accurate balances, timeliness of journal entries and completion of all account reconciliations
- Assess, implement, and monitor all internal control practices
- Monitor/analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements
- Establish and maintain financial records in accordance with US GAAP and compliance with internal controls

- Ensure proper revenue recognition of complex multi-element activities, including revenue models related to advertising subscriptions
- Provide ad hoc financial reports or related support as needed
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred
- 5-15 years of experience
- Prior experience managing an accounting team
- Must be willing to be onsite 3 days/week
- Strong GAAP and accounting principles, standards, laws, regulations, etc.
