Cost / Project Accountant | Lake Worth, FL | $140K–$145K Total Compensation
We are conducting a search for a Cost / Project Accountant to join a growing construction management firm in the Lake Worth, FL area.
This position will serve as the primary local accounting resource and partner with project leadership, operations, procurement, and a larger accounting team based in another state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project accounting throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare owner billings, SOVs, lien waivers, and related documentation
- Manage monthly close, forecasting, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete analysis
- Analyze budgets, variances, labor trends, contingencies, and project performance
- Track change orders, commitments, procurement activity, and subcontract changes
- Review invoices and requisitions for accuracy, compliance, and budget alignment
- Prepare cost accruals and support month-end and year-end close
- Maintain project financial data and support process improvements
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant accounting, project accounting, cost accounting, project controls, or operational finance experience
- Construction management, general contracting, real estate development, or construction accounting experience preferred
- Experience with CMiC and/or Textura highly preferred
- Strong understanding of project accounting, billing, forecasting, WIP, and cost-to-complete analysis
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Candidates from outside the construction industry may be considered with experience using CMiC, Textura, or comparable project accounting systems.
Schedule: 5 days in office preferred; 4 days in office / 1 day remote may be considered
Compensation: $140K–$145K total compensation
