Investment Systems Support Analyst
We are currently seeking an Investment Systems Support Analyst for a highly successful global investment management firm in Boston, MA. This role will support portfolio managers, traders, and other investment professionals across Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of investment systems support experience, strong SQL skills, and a solid understanding of front- and middle-office workflows.
This is a 12+ month contract-to-hire position paying $55-$65/hour, depending on experience. The Investment Systems Support Analyst will work a hybrid schedule in Boston (four days per week on-site and one day per week remote). Candidates must be local to the Greater Boston area and willing to work onsite in Boston, MA four days per week.
Responsibilities:
• Support investment professionals with systems, application, and data-related issues.
• Troubleshoot problems involving order management, portfolio analytics, investment research, reporting, and market data tools.
• Use SQL to investigate data discrepancies and support issue resolution.
• Assist with investment data involving holdings, transactions, benchmarks, exposures, risk, performance, and attribution.
• Support workflows across Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Foreign Exchange.
• Partner with users and technology teams to identify root causes and coordinate solutions.
• Communicate system issues and resolutions clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Participate in a rotating production-support schedule approximately once every two months.
• Escalate significant application or data issues when necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of investment systems, application support, business analysis, or systems analysis experience.
• Experience directly supporting portfolio managers, traders, analysts, or other investment professionals.
• Strong knowledge of Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with Charles River Development, Murex, or another order management system is preferred.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, investment research tools, and reporting platforms.
• Strong understanding of holdings, transactions, benchmarks, exposures, risk measures, and portfolio analytics.
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills.
