Senior Corporate Accountant – Yardi
We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Corporate Accountant opportunity with a rapidly growing property management organization in Los Angeles, CA. The Senior Corporate Accountant will provide hands-on support across corporate accounting, account reconciliations, and the monthly close process. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of corporate accounting experience and strong proficiency with Yardi. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to work directly with the Controller and take ownership of several critical accounting activities.
This is a 100% remote contract position expected to last approximately 2–3 months. The Senior Corporate Accountant will work an average of 30 hours per week. Compensation for this role is between $65 – $75/hour (depending on experience) on a 1099 basis.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Controller with day-to-day corporate accounting and month-end close activities.
• Prepare and record journal entries involving accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unusual items.
• Maintain accurate accounting records within the Yardi ERP system.
• Review general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies affecting financial reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Manage fixed-asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and account maintenance.
• Track prepaid expenses and ensure costs are recognized in the appropriate accounting periods.
• Partner directly with the Controller to address accounting priorities and meet close deadlines.
• Provide additional corporate accounting support throughout the Senior Corporate Accountant engagement.
Qualifications:
• 6+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience using Yardi is required.
• Thorough understanding of the complete month-end close process.
• Experience accounting for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and general ledger activity.
• Proven ability to prepare and review account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and standard corporate accounting practices.
• Ability to work independently in a lean accounting environment with limited supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple close-related deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Prior experience supporting a property management, real estate, hospitality, or multifamily organization is preferred.
