We are currently seeking candidates for a Lead AI & Automation Engineer position located in Tewksbury, MA 01876. The position is with a rapidly growing and privately held industrial manufacturing company. The AI & Automation Engineer will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, evaluate tools, and implement solutions that reduce manual work and improve efficiency. The role offers the opportunity to lead the implementation of AI/ML functions across the company.

This is a full-time permanent position that will pay 140K – 170K base salary (depending on experience) plus bonus.  

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement AI and automation use cases across the business
  • Improve estimating, material takeoffs, and quoting workflows
  • Apply AI to production, quality, and maintenance processes
  • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks
  • Support logistics, inventory, and planning improvements
  • Build simulations or digital models to support process and facility planning
  • Evaluate and pilot tools; support vendor selection when needed
  • Help modernize systems and workflows so data and tools work together
  • Train users and support adoption across teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
  • 2+ years of professional engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI, automation, or data-driven tools
  • Comfortable working from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and deliver solutions end-to-end
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical teams
  • Estimating or material takeoff automation experience
  • Computer vision or inspection-related applications
  • Predictive maintenance or reliability analytics
