Trade Operations Analyst – Boston, MA
We are currently seeking candidates for a Trade Operations Analyst opportunity with a highly successful Investment Management firm located in Boston, MA. The Trade Operations Analyst will be responsible for carrying out data checks, researching and resolving trade issues, conducting daily reviews on collaterals, and communicating with custodians. This professional will ensure all executed trades are properly processed in accordance with firm’s standards. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of relevant trade operations and/or investment operations experience.
This is a 10-12+ month contract opportunity, paying $34-40/hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Trade Operations team with the integration of processing between legacy trading system and a new trading platform, Charles River IMS
- Research and resolve open factor or trade issues, and escalate issues as needed
- Ensure all trades executed in a trading system are processed internally
- Ensure all trades not executed in a trading system (primarily derivative transactions) are manually updated in the company’s accounting system
- Update the accounting system and trading system with factor updates as needed
- Monitor a variety of data checks to ensure the accuracy of data within the trading and accounting systems
- Allocate mortgage-backed TBA trades and handle all associated processes pertaining to MBS securities
- Update accounting system with transactions pertaining to transfer-in-kind or paydown transactions and ensure corresponding portfolio positions correspond and reflect updates
- Conduct daily review of futures collateral holdings
- Conduct daily review of collateral on OTC derivatives
- Facilitates movement of collateral to counterparty or custodian bank as needed
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in a relevant field (finance, accounting, economics, etc.)
- 3-5+ years of relevant fund accounting and/or investment operations experience
- Strong experience working with all security types, including equities, bonds, interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, total return swaps, futures, options, MBS pools, asset-backed securities, bank loans, short-term securities, foreign exchange, and TIP securities
- Detail-oriented and proactive in meeting deadlines
- Possess strong organization and prioritization skills
