SVP: Business Applications Leader – Financial Services
Daley and Associates is currently conducting a search for a Business Applications Leader for a client of ours who is a prestigious financial services firm located in Hartford County, CT. The main responsibility of this Business Applications Leader will be to manage a collaborative business and technology engagement model, where empowered members of the team integrate into business teams, pursue a deep understanding of business functions and the technology needs of those functions. This role is a hybrid position with three days a week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and recruit a team to implement, support and evolve the portfolio of applications.

- Provide technology vision and leadership for the implementation of initiatives that create and maintain a competitive advantage and increased consumer satisfaction in a constantly changing industry.
- Spearhead strategic technological planning as it relates to applications and cloud-based distributed systems while understanding the rationalization opportunity across the portfolio.
- Oversee the development of the team’s roadmap and execution of prioritized and approved projects.
- Manage operation and capital expenses for the Business Application budgets to ensure all funding requests follow the appropriate governance processes.
- Ensure compliance with IT quality and security processes and procedures, identifying and addressing any compliance issues.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to data privacy, data retention and overall compliance.
- Manage third-party vendors and contractors on all ITIL disciplines of managing applications to ensure performance expectations and customer satisfaction.
- Meet regularly with stakeholders from the firm’s processing vendor to discuss issues and opportunities for enhancing the partnership in ensuring the applications continue to align with the firm’s strategic goals.
- Lead transformations and designing modern technology delivery capabilities – Cloud, Dev/Ops, continuous development/deployment, agile methodologies, analytics, artificial intelligence, and RPA/automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of work experience in application support or systems management, preferably in the financial services industry.
- 5+ years of management experience leading a team responsible for enterprise applications services.
- 3+ years in CORE application technology.
- Proven success in effectively managing through influence and by prioritizing tasks for both self and team to meet business requirements and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, data categorization and data governance within applications.
- Strong business acumen on strategy, processes, objectives, and typical challenges for the lines of business.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively cross-functionality firmwide.
- Exceptional oral / written communication and presentation skills.
- Detail oriented with experience multi-tasking assigned responsibilities.
