Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager- Medical Device
Our medical device client who is going through expansion is looking for a manufacturing engineering manager who would be responsible to develop manufacturing engineering strategies to support the growth of the Hemostasis product line and drive operational excellence initiatives to improve year over year the productivity. This role requires the candidate to have In Vitro Diagnostic Device and Microfluidics experience. The individual would work and develop with R&D and QA more cost effective production controls or assays to test incoming reagents and to release production lots. Western Pennsylvania.

Job summary:
Responsible to develop manufacturing engineering strategies to support the growth of the Hemostasis Hospital franchise in Haemonetics. Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve year over year the productivity of the portfolio manufacturing lines with a special emphasis on process yield improvement and scrap reduction. Develop in concert with R&D and QA more cost effective production controls or assays to test incoming reagents and to release production lots. Responsible for robust and reliable design to manufacturing transfer strategies.
Job duties:

Applies systems level experience and project management skills where analysis requires a broad review of both technical and business factors.

Ensures financial, technical design, quality, and project management accountability for resources and results, to achieve operational goals and objectives within financial limits.

Executes and participates in the development of short and long term strategic objectives; working through professional staff, manages day-to-day operations; leverages technical opportunities for business advantage.

Translates Advanced Engineering and business needs into tactical, cost effective, and feasible plans and development strategies; defines key capabilities, performance and quality requirements, and system, technology, or business constraints.

Works with cross-functional teams, interacts at management levels within the department and across the company or with external entities on a variety of diverse and broad scope issues where analysis requires the review of both technical and business factors.

Ensure successful design transfer to manufacturing and lead IQ, OQ, PQ to meet time to market product and new assays requirements.

Supervise, lead and manage manufacturing engineers and technicians to ensure product quality, delivery, and cost to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering field, required. Bioscience/chemical or Master’s degree, preferred. Candidate’s with extensive experience may be considered in lieu of Science/Engineering Bachelor’s degree.

10+ years of experiences in life science, bioscience or pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing.

A solid knowhow of reagent mixing, reagent development, and assays would be a plus.
