Sr. FP&A Consultant – Boston, MA
We are currently seeking candidates for a Sr. FP&A Consultant to join a growing biotech company located in Boston, MA. The Sr. FP&A Consultant will collaborate closely with the CFO in establishing and leading the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function. This pivotal role will contribute significantly to the IPO preparation by delivering crucial financial insights, supporting strategic decisions, and ensuring SEC filing readiness. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in the biotech industry, particularly in drafting the MD&A section for SEC filings, and possess a strong background in working with publicly traded companies.
This is a 4+ month contract opportunity, paying between $100-$120/hour (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities:
- FP&A Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive FP&A framework, including processes, systems, and reporting structures, specifically designed for a pre-IPO biotech company.
- IPO Preparation: Partner with the CFO and other key stakeholders to prepare the company for its IPO, including drafting the MD&A section for SEC filings and ensuring all financial reporting meets regulatory standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the creation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, providing in-depth analysis and insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Cash Flow Forecasting: Create and maintain cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability and support operational planning.
- Financial Reporting: Develop and present detailed financial reports and dashboards to the executive team and board of directors, offering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Data Management: Leverage Excel and Intacct/Sage to analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial models and reports.
- Strategic Advisory: Serve as a key financial advisor to the CFO, offering insights and recommendations to support the company's strategic goals and growth initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as Accounting, Operations, and Legal to ensure alignment and consistency in financial planning and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or CPA is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in FP&A, with a focus on the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record in IPO preparation and support, including drafting the MD&A for SEC filings.
- Prior experience with publicly traded companies is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Intacct/Sage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Essential experience in cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
