Senior Payroll Associate
A leading private equity firm located in Boston is looking for a Senior Payroll Associate to join their growing team! This firm is focused on growth-oriented media, communications, education, and technology companies across North America and Europe and has invested over $31 billion across more than 170 private equity portfolio companies. As the Senior Payroll Associate, you will be responsible for all aspects of payroll and retirement plan operations for the firms’ US and UK locations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the plan sponsor of the firms’ retirement plans, maintain the plans and the relationship between the advisors
- Ensure accurate/timely processing and closing of payroll, payroll funding and tax filings
- Assist with process improvements and recommend updates for the payroll processing software, systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls, federal/state regulations and guidelines, facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Maintain employee confidentiality
- Answer questions/requests related to payroll and plan information
- Work with the HR department and management to coordinate/implement changes
- Onboard and capture key data points of new candidates and employees into Workday prior to commencement of employment
- Participate in all HRIS application upgrades and testing
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of payroll and retirement plan administration (experience with UK payroll is ideal)
- BS/BA degree
- Experience with Workday, Paychex and ADP
- Strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills
- Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Experienced in basic accounting principles and financial acumen
