Sr. Hardware Quality Assurance Sustaining Engineer – Manufacturing – Dedham, MA
We are seeking candidates for a Sr. Hardware / QA Sustaining Engineer position with a client who is a growing manufacturing company located outside of Dedham, MA area. This person will oversee the qualification, quality, and sustained engineering for our client’s engineering’s custom and commodity servers and components.
This is a contract-to-hire position that will pay $50/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour work week.
Responsibilities:
- Validate server performance against ADR, MRD, and SOW.
- Use stress and margining tests to validate features and performance.
- Define and execute test strategies for server components (disk drives, cards, processors, memory).
- Release and document components for new/existing designs.
- Manage product introduction and changes using PLM tools (ECO, PNR, PCN).
- Validate and document prototype platforms for early evaluations and regulatory tests.
- Perform level 3 failure analysis on field returns and yield issues; collaborate with suppliers.
- Work with quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production personnel.
- Attend work as scheduled and undertake additional duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3-5 years industry experience, OR Associate’s degree in Engineering with 8-10 years industry experience.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
- Coordinate and review test strategies with a team of engineers.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux server environments.
- Knowledge of standardized server test software and electrical system debugging.
- Familiarity with server systems architecture and peripheral components.
- Ability to create detailed test plans and understand thermal/electrical principles.
- Track and document project progress; work independently and in teams.
- Follow all applicable Business Management System (BMS) processes.
