Senior Fund Accountant – Private Equity (Boston, MA)
We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Fund Accountant opportunity with a highly successful Private Equity firm located in Boston, MA. The Senior Fund Accountant will report the Assistant Controller and is responsible for the accounting and treasury operations for approximately 140 private equity funds.
This role is a 12+ month contract-to-hire opportunity, paying $40-$50/hour (depending on experience).
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily reconciliation of fund cash activity and maintain books and records accordingly
- Assist in quarterly close process, prepare draft financial statements and footnotes and create supporting work papers
- Assist with capital calls and distributions, including allocation of such transactions
- Prepare wire transfers to fund investment activity and distribute proceeds to investors
- Answer information requests from investors, refers investors to other appropriate resources as necessary
- Complete ad-hoc requests for information from management
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in public accounting or as a Fund Staff Accountant, preferably in private equity
- Experience working with Investran a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Strong technical skills
- Ability to create clear and concise documentation and/or work papers to be relied upon by external auditors
- Team player with a strong focus on getting the job done within established time lines
