Senior Fund Accountant – Boston, MA – Private Equity
A leading middle-market private equity firm with assets under management of over $15 billion is looking to hire a Senior Fund Accountant to their growing team. The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting for a subset of our private equity, credit and technology fund families and related special purpose vehicles.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Handling the maintenance of the general ledger / accounting records for assigned fund families with the assistance of the Accounting Managers.

Preparing the calculations and notices for capital calls, distributions and periodic reporting to limited partners.

Preparing the quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned fund families.

Preparing account / investment / cash reconciliations as needed.

Managing / monitoring / reconciling outstanding payables and receivables between the funds, management company and portfolio companies.

Liaising with external auditors and serving as a key contributor of the requested support for the funds’ audits.

Responding to ad hoc requests from other Finance team members and from members of the Investment and IR teams, and working on special projects.

Assisting with and responding to ad hoc requests and audit confirmation requests for investors.

Assisting with the quarterly valuation and reporting process by coordinating with the investment team, valuation associates and portfolio company contacts to compile and review data, as needed.

Working with the Accounting Managers, the Controller, the Senior VP of Accounting and the CFO on cross-portfolio reporting, including pitchbook materials.

Posting of notices and reporting to the investor portal.

Tracking and updating for investor transfers and contact changes for assigned funds.

Assisting with the documentation of internal accounting policies, procedures and controls.
Ideal candidates will possess:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
-
1-4 years of relevant experience in financial services with a leading public accountancy firm, service provider / fund administrator or investment advisor

CPA preferred

Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products

Acute attention to accuracy and detail

Strong interest in accounting and the private equity industry

Strong verbal and written communication skills

A positive attitude and eagerness to tackle challenges and to constantly learn

Strong work ethic and willingness to occasionally work late if needed

Knowledge of eFront accounting system a plus
