Senior Fund Accountant – Boston, MA – Asset Management
Our team is working with a leading publicly traded asset management in Boston to hire a Senior Accountant to their growing team. This role will play a critical part in fund operations, overseeing accounting activities, conducting research, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our investment data and financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities:

Support with the day-to-day accounting operations for our investment funds, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Perform daily reconciliation of cash, positions, and transactions for the fund, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.

Review and validate trade activity, corporate actions, and other transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements, investor reports, and other regulatory filings for the funds.

Conduct research and analysis on accounting issues, investment transactions, and regulatory changes, providing recommendations and solutions to management as needed.

Prepare financial statements and related reporting for review, including SEC filings as applicable.

Assist and support with managing the external audit process, including quarterly reviews and diligence projects.

Help streamline existing processes and enhance operational efficiency within the fund accounting team, leveraging technology and automation where applicable.

Stay informed about industry developments, accounting standards, and best practices in fund accounting, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry norms.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

2+ years of experience in fund accounting.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to apply them to complex investment structures and transactions.

Excellent research skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify key insights, and propose effective solutions.

Demonstrated ability to manage recurring processes and monthly/quarterly close calendars.
Experience with process improvement initiatives, including the ability to streamline existing processes and implement best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications; experience with fund accounting systems preferred.
