Senior Controller – Construction – Hybrid – Total comp up to $250k
Our client is a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions in the Manhattan area. With a reputation for excellence and innovation, they have been serving clients for 15+ years. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is paramount, and they are seeking a talented Senior Controller to join the team and contribute to their continued success.
As the Senior Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions. Additionally, you will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support decision-making and drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop detailed financial forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on your analysis.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial strategies and goals. Provide input and analysis to support strategic decision-making initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of financial professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to foster a high-performing team culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP)
- Experience in the construction/energy industry or related field is highly desirable
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software
