Senior Accountant – Boston, MA – Venture Capital
A leading expansion stage venture capital firm with a focus on expansion stage software companies is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their growing team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for both fund and management company accounting.
Responsibilities:

Maintain both fund and management company general ledgers, ensuring accuracy of journal entries and monthly reconciliations

Prepare quarterly fund financial statements and partner capital statements

Help with tax returns and filings, for both funds and management company

Perform AR and review AP, ensuring active projects are covered by valid contracts and communicating with customers/vendors to address payment status

Prepare budget-to-actual variance analysis and operational financial reporting

Review expense submissions, ensuring firm policies, including Delegation of Authority, are appropriately followed prior to any payments
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

1-4 years of accounting or auditing experience

Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Consistent and precise attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills and team-player attitude

Minimum GPA 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
