Senior Accountant – Newton, MA – SaaS
A leading digital procurement network made up of tech-enabled GPOs and SaaS companies that create unparalleled efficiency and new value in the foodservice channel is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their growing team. The Senior Accountant will directly support the Assistant Corporate Controller in all aspects of the Finance/Accounting Department. Primary responsibilities include journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, financial statements, fixed assets, A/P, A/R, audits and month and year end close.
Responsibilities:

Prepares and books journal entries including standard monthly accounting entries and statistical metrics

Month End Closings

Prepare draft financial statements. analyze financial statement balances, trial balances, subsidiary ledgers, and identify variances.

Research and resolve discrepancies

Reconciling balance sheet accounts thoroughly

Assist with developing consistent policies and procedures

Assist with documenting and implementing internal controls
-
Assist with integrating new acquisitions
-
Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations
-
Prepare for Audits (financial, bank and sales tax)
-
Special Projects as needed

Ad Hoc financial analysis and reporting using QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel etc.

Regular interaction with accounting team, management, auditors, support staff and outside stakeholders
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, MBA/CPA preferred

3+ years of progressive directly related accounting experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
-
NetSuite or other ERP system experience a plus
