Senior Accountant – Real Estate
My client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their development and construction team. This role will focus on managing and overseeing financial operations related to real estate development and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in the real estate industry, particularly within development and construction projects. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of development and construction projects
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, project budgets, and cost reports
- Review and analyze the general ledger, financial statements and prepare appropriate accrual and adjusting journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly and year end work papers
- Assist in the management of auditor engagements for completion of annual audit reports
- Provide timely and accurate information to the owners, lenders and outside partners
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Finance / Accounting
- 3-4 years of public accounting experience + construction/development accounting experience
- CPA strongly preferred
- Must be onsite 4 days/week
