Senior Accountant – Manufacturing – Boston, MA
Job Overview: The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing key accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of corporate accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to support financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal policies.

General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including managing journal entries, reconciliations, and adjusting entries. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare and review reconciliations of accounts, including bank reconciliations, and resolve any discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis and insights.

Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain accurate financial records.

Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to facilitate the audit and address any findings.

Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis to support management decision-making. Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.

Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate accounting or with a leading CPA Firm

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills required.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting requirements. Experience with financial analysis and budgeting processes.
