Senior Accountant – Peabody, MA – Food & Beverage
A leading food manufacturer and distributor with $250M in annual revenue is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their growing team. The Senior Accountant will be a key member and contributor to the Finance teams accounting and financial reporting process. You will be responsible for the quarterly review, financial statement drafting, and internal controls testing.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position.

Post daily and monthly GL transactions.

Daily cash flow-reconcile daily cash transactions and banking.

Ensures wire and ACH transactions are prepared in accordance with the banking, payments, and supplier administration policy.

Reconciles and overseas assigned balance sheet, P&L accounts with an understanding that these numbers will be used to make decisions impacting the company.

Helps process and reconcile AR customers, program accounts, and related accounts.

Assists the Controller and others with the monthly closing process.

Adherences to timelines and deliverables, monitoring self-accountability to ensure deadlines are met.

Assists with the compilation of deliverables to management, the advisory board, and outside CPA firm.

Ensures that financial reporting is in accordance with US GAAP on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including quarterly reviews.

Participates in the new ERP implementation and assists with post-implementation optimization processes.

Ad Hoc projects deemed necessary by the accounting department.
Other Responsibilities:

Will have supervisory oversight of the accounting team when working for the Controller.

Works as a team with the Controller and assists in assigning and following up on work with the accounting staff.

Will serve as the backup in the absence of the Controller.

Ability to interact with various levels of employees throughout the organization.

Ability to use discretion in handling highly confidential information.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field required
-
CPA eligible is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered

Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience

Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus

Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a flexible and collaborative work style
-
Strong written and verbal communication, including preparing and presenting information to stakeholders

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, emphasizing Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
-
Proven experience using financial software, tracking budget expenses, financial skills, and analyzing information
-
ERP implementation, integration, or experience with Microsoft Business Central is a plus
