Real Estate Investment Accountant (Hybrid)
Our team is working with a leading asset management firm in Boston, and they are searching for a Real Estate Investment Accountant to join their team! This is a hybrid role and the ideal candidate has around 2-4+ years of public accounting experience, or experience within a RE firm. Responsibilities:
- Accounting & Reporting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including investment properties, management fees, and other related accounts. Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Transaction Processing: Record and monitor investment transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing activities. Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable.
- Asset Management Support: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for investment properties. Analyze financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to enhance asset performance.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Prepare for and support external audits and internal reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real estate, public accounting, or asset management
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- CPA or working towards CPA certification.
